how do you figure out how much wattage your cpu is consuming when running 100%? and does a cpu say running 2000mhz at 1.5v comsume the same wattage as say running 2200mhz at 1.5v ?
I use 2 pages to figure an estimated power usage for my procs, Fatcat. The first page I go to is this one: http://users.erols.com/chare/elec.htm This page has most all the x86 processors made in the last 10-15 years or so listed, along with their max TDP. This gives me a starting point and numbers to plug in to the formulas on the bottom of this page here: http://www.heatsink-guide.com/content.php?content=maxtemp.shtml You just fill in the numbers in the formula and you should have a good ballpark wattage number for your proc.
