Hi all, I know I saw a good link somewhere for backing up winxp somewhere but I can't find it. MY mother wants to back up her copy of winxp home and do a fresh install. She wants to keep all her outlook email contacts, favs, etc. Anyone know the link or have a site that gives a good step by step. All I came up with is how to install windows.

if all you're talking about is little documents and whatnot, just burn them to a cd

Yea but telling your 50 year old mother to do that over the phone with malware running rampent on her machine isn't as simple. ;D She has installed windows xp before so I know thats not a problem. But if she had a guide on backing up her system she would be a lot more happier.

if she can be taught to install XP, then why can't she be taught to burn a cd?

yeah, windows has a built in burning program, just tell her to put all the things she wants to keep in ONE folder, then left click the folder> send to> CDRW Drive

its that easy man, even with malware its possible!!

oh and make sure that once XP is installed again on her machine, that she uptades everything. cause thats a big reason for simple malware to infest your machine.
