While MSN Messenger 7.5 just came out, 8.0 is already being worked on and heading towards beta by the end of the year. A third party source whom is said to be from Microsoft has reportedly provided TheHotFix.net with information.

that list would have read better if it said...

1. dumped messenger 8 for google talk
2. added file sharing to google talk
3. released source code now open source
