DVD burner problem

I have a emachines T6410 PC, it came with DVD burner
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B. I bought some 16x DVD-Rs. The maximum speed I can burn is 4x. Why it is not 16x? Please help.



Recordable DVD Drive Speeds
4x DVD+R DL;
16x8x16 DVD+RW;
16x6x16 DVD-RW;
40x24x40 CD-RW

    K_Squad, what software are you using? Also, you might want to check if there is updated firmware for your drive. :)
