Do not follow the rest of the instructions on that link, as I do not want you to post a regular HJT log. After installing HJT, I want you to do this:
- Run HJT
- Click the button "Open the Misc Tools Section."
- Click the button "Open Uninstall Manager"
- On the right hand side, find "Save List" and click it.
- Save the list to the HJT folder. Once you do, it will open the text document automatically.
- Select all the text in that document, and post it here.
The object of this is to let us have a look at what all is in that list. You may have some bad entry there which is causing this issue, and hopefully HJT's Uninstall Manager will let us identify it.

If you are running Windows 2000, you may want to try the fix in this Microsoft Knowledgebase Article:
There is a detailed fix at the link.
If you are running XP, see my next post.
Dexter...
Start -> Run
type in regedit <enter>
Navigate (click the + signs to open sub-keys) to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
Click the + sign there to list everything in the uninstall registry.
Look for a blank entry which will look like this: {}
Or look for an entry with a negative number, such as :{-0552A36D-0D7E-4FF5-8FDB-6629ABA7C779}
If you see either of those, delete them by right-clicking on the entry and choosing Delete.
What you will be looking for will be near the top of the list, as it populates the list alphabetically, and whatever is goofing it up is coming at the top.

They may be the culprits.
Try this. Run Regedit again. One at a time, right click these and select Export. Save them to .REG files on your desktop. Then right-click them again and select Delete. Exit Regedit.
Reboot and check your Add/Remove list.
If the problem is solved, great. If not, double-click each of those .REG files on your desktop to add them back in to the Registry, then delete the .REG files.
Let me know if that helps.
