cd writer problem

Hi

I have a samsung cd writer and recently the thing started opening and closing on its own continuously.
Is it a possible virus although the pc is not connected.

Any suggestions please

    Not connected.... to what? The internet? The CD-Writer?

    Does the drive still do this when you're not in Windows? Say for instance if you're in the BIOS or whatever.

    Ye it does the same.When I close the cd writer it opens on its own.
