After formatting the hard drive and rebooting from an XP OEM disk I no longer have Microsoft Word. The pc is fairly new. Can anyone help?
Thankyou.

Word is not part of Windows XP as far as I know. When you reformat, you have to reload all of you applications.
If the application is on another partition, you will still have to reload as the ini file is usually held on the boot partition ie C drive.

Microsoft Word is part of Microsoft Office... not Windows, unless you meant Wordpad...
