Hi guys!

I found out one of my crucial rams was causing frequent system crash on my rig, so im now down to two stick of PC2100 Crucial ram(256x2). Im planning to get a new stick of ram, but im not sure if i should get another PC2100 or something higher. Will my AT7MAX2 accept 2 stick of different PC#### DDR ram? or should stick to PC2100....

Also could someone please recommend a PC#### DDR ram? Im just a regular user so im not gonna do any OC.

Thanx!

    It's an old Palmino 1800+ so i think it's 133.

It took me quite sometime to find out it's one of my ram cauzing the problem. I was getting all kinds of BSOD in XPsp1.

The six sticks of Crucial PC2100 I owned about 19 months ago also did the same thing.

    That said, do you overclock?

    sorry it's 266fsb.
i bought it for 20 month, 3 sticks and now 1 acting weird.

I don't do overclocking.....as long as it will work nice and easy. I just don't wanna find out if i put in a PC2700 or anything other than PC2100 my system will go boom. hehehe =)

Just buy some more pc2100. No need to have pc2700, 3200, 3500... etc unless a) you need to overclock it or b) you are planning on totally upgrading in the near future.

You could snag another 512 of some corsair pc2100 on newegg for $80 and enjoy the bliss of having a gb of ram.

    Here is the AT7max2 spec.

    Memory
    - Four 184-pin DIMM sockets
    - Supports 2 DIMM DDR 333/400 (Max. 2GB)
    - Supports 3 DIMM Un-buffered DDR 200/266 (Max. 3GB)
    - Supports 4 DIMM Registered DDR 200/266 (Max. 3.5GB)

since i already got 2 DIMMs of DDR266, i think another DIMM of DDR266 will work.

The only problem im concerning is the mix of memory. Anybody have any experience on mixing of memory??

running the faster ram at lower speeds isn't a problem in most cases, but most people will tell you to not mix speeds. If you're gonna buy pc2700 (333 fsb) then you might as well get you a 1700+ and OC that sucker.

How long have you had the Crucial ram? Isn't it under warranty still and can't you therefore just rma it for another stick and all of these questions become academic? I thought Crucial gave their ram a lifetime warranty, no?

Just my belief that getting something for nothing is better than paying for it!!

    Good Luck,
