I know we have a decently-sized contingency of WoW players here, including ]|V|[agic and Norge, and I was wondering if anyone else plays?

Name: Ghrall
Race: Orc
Class: Warlock
Level: 60
Server: Stormrage (PvE)
Guild: BogTroopers

Anybody else? I know Norge has a pretty well-equipped Warrior. :D I would like to see what you all have.

OK, I'm not playing right now, but would like to. I tried to get into it but just couldn't. What should I play as in order to get into this game and enjoy it?

It's all about the people. Make solid connections early on, and do instances, and you'll have one hell of a time. I truly believe that instances + people are the secret to success... Without them, it becomes a boring grind-fest with no good loot, no good reward to strive for.

Without a goal, I can see it never being fun.

It's also about finding the right class: Stealthily stabbing things? Magic? Taking lots of abuse? Healing? If you find the right class, you're well on your way to having a good time. Many people find, after their fifth character, that they've finally discovered their "Right class" and then they have a ball.

I play on Elune and have 2 characters that I play really. A 47 paladin that I play when I want to solo/grind and then a 18 priest that I play when I want to group. I've been playing the priest the last couple weeks when I play. She levels quite a bit slower but I'm just getting to where I can do instance runs with it so it'll speed up :).

So basically you have to group? I don't like having to group, don't have enough free time.

I don't really play anymore. I never did any of the PvP stuff and just ran through the singleplayer. I have a lot of endgame left to do though and with my guild disappearing off the planet I don't think I will be doing any of it.

Here is a screenshot with my pride and joy, my epic battle ram. Also here is a screenshot of myself along side Fubarbashir aka mmonnin.

It sounds like we have quite a crew of players here at SM. Too bad we can't all be on the same server. Oh and your set looks really bad ass Thrax. Is that the Felheart?

Yeah, that's 5/8 Felheart pieces, with one more planned. The cap is Nemesis (Tier 2 Warlock set).

So you're not going to finish getting your tier one set? I take it you are just going to move onto the Nemesis set instead then? I'd kind of like to have my epic set but I have a hard time finding groups for Molten Core since I'm not in a big guild. I've only been there twice and it was a big disaster since both times were pick up groups.

The whole 40 man thing doesn't appeal to me a whole lot anyhoo. I prefer fights where it feels like I can actually affect the outcome of the battle. Five man instances are the most fun for me since every person is important and you feel all the more bad ass if your group is able to pull through a really tough battle. I just wished they hadn't nerfed Strath as much as they did last patch. My guild could five man it fairly easily before the nerf. Now it is almost too easy.

On the upside Zul'Gurub will be put in next patch so maybe I'll have a chance at my set from there. My guild has formed an alliance with another small guild so we should be able to scrounge up 20 people to start running ZG.

No, it's silly to finish your full set for many classes. For a Warlock, here's why:

    1. Felheart Belt < Mana Igniting Cord.
    2. Nemesis Skullcap > Felheart Hat.

You could even make the argument:

    3. Gloves of Hypnotic Flame > Felheart Gloves

The set bonuses for Felheart are pathetic, so Warlocks only need worry about getting statistically-excellent items with +shadow or +magic damage.

On our server, ten guilds do pickup MC, and the first Horde guilds to do MC were also pickup. Granted, those pickups formalized into a DKP-based structure, and later condensed into real guilds, but the start of MC for most guilds on Stormrage was the pickup Horde Raiding Union.

Yeah I see your point in not wanting to finish your entire set if the bonuses suck and all. I guess the main reason I like to finish sets is because of the feeling of accomplishment. That and you look pretty snazzy with a full set. Although, I think I may be moving away from that now that ZG is released. I am probably going to mix match Valor and the new Vindicators set as I get pieces of it. Not only because some of the new Vindicator's pieces kick ass (namely the chest piece), but because I am tired of looking like every other level 60 warrior in full valor. They really need to get the final art for the ZG sets in the game though. Currently, they all look like they ran smack dab into the ugly tree.

I think everyone should join the "Wildhammer" server :D Its the newest PvP Server to come out(Which means theres not an absurd amount of level 60's to gank you) and its a PvP server. If PvP is not your thing though, I wouldnt recommend it. We could start our own guild
