When you say Yahoo, do you mean Yahoo Messenger? or the website?

Ok, once you remove those items I listed in the previous post above, restart your computer, and provide us with an updated HJT log.

Everything looks OK in the HJT log file. Your internet (web only) access issues may not be spyware related. Out of curiosity, can you browse web pages from Internet Explorer? or is this issue occuring with both Firefox and IE?

Routers can be finiky sometimes, I'd unplug both the router and modem for about 30 seconds or so, and plug them back in. Wait a few minutes, and try again. Wouldn't hurt to reboot your computer while you are waiting.

It is odd however, that your yahoo messenger was working fine at this time..

One thing you can try: temporarily 'disable' your Norton Personal Firewall, to see if it is blocking your web traffic for some reason..

Hmm, that is very odd. You may want to start a new thread in the 'Networking' forum, and thoroughly describe your issue there. You'll get more visibility, and some additional help from other forum members..

Next time you are unable to web surf, try to disable your personal firewall to see if that makes a difference..

Is your CDRom drive a standard IDE drive with the ribbon cable? Did it just stop working suddenly? or was this after any changes you made?

Ah yes, good eye prime

The first one prime listed should definitely be removed. The second two are not likely causing you any major issues, but can be safely removed. Some companies disable Regedit as a local policy for all users, but if this is a home PC, and not an IT administrated work PC, then you definitely want to get rid of that second one prime mentioned as well..

EDIT: As a side-note, I noticed you do not have any Microsoft service packs installed for Windows XP, you may want to get SP2 installed. You can find more information at Microsoft's website.. That can certainly help to keep your PC more secure.

its not a bad ribbon cable i know that cause i used two different ones. one that was right out of the wrapper so i knew that was a good one it was never used.
