\windows\system32\config\system

I've been looking around, but nothing has worked yet. On the Setup Disk, it never checks for previous installilations. It is either repair on the first screen or install a new one. Help Please.

Thats because the filesystem is fubared. It needs to find the boot.ini file. Thats how it sees older installs to repair. If the filesystem is screwed or that file is missing or messed up it never offers to do a repair install for ya

Trying going into recovery console and running chkdsk to repair the filesystem.
