when I download stuff..it just closes..

When i download stuff on sites,i click on the link and a download window should appeared.It appeared but it disappeared right after it appeared,no matter how many times i try to click the link the same thing happen..please help me

Do you have some sort of pop up stopping program. Firefox and if you have service pack 2 for xp installed both have pop up stoppers. If you have SP2 installed there should be a little bar that drops down at the top when a popup ist blocked, meaning that it thinks the download is a popup.

I dont know what programs your using so this is just from my experience. and please next time post in the software forum, this is for emergency help for non-bootable pc's. thanks :smiles:

no it doesn't shows a little bar...my com has been acting weirdly since yesterday...I did some amendment to 1 of the registry and terminated a uninstallation half-way and it said that if i terminate it,there will likely be some unstability problem or corruption it think..the file was Windows XP KB835732 then when i tried to uninstall..it needs me to have file "gdi32.dll" on Windows NT Service Pack Uninstallation Directory then I just click cancel cause I don't have NT SP Uninstallation Directory thingy..then when I clicked cancel it says "If you cancel now Windows might not work correctly..do you want to continue?" Please help me find the solution to this problem..I have thought of reformatting my computer..do you recommend it?
