linksys wireless card trouble

Hey, i have a linksys wirless g router, and a wmp54G wireless pci card. I am constantly losing my connection (like every few minutes), and i have no idea why. I know it has nothing to do with the distance from the router, because my computer is exactly 1 floor directly above the router. So its like 8 feet away from the router(well through a floor, and its wood, not cement). I know this has to be a software issue of some sort, because i used to always have a great signal and never lose my connection. I have a good signal now, but it just loses the connection alot.

Alright now heres what ive done to try and stop it: I reset my router, reset both computers, deleted this IP from the router and then reconnected, ive even tried to uninstall and reinstall my pci cards drivers, but the strange thing is as soon as I uninstall them, xp automaticall re-installs them. I dont have any of hte drivers saved on my pc so i have no clue what to do in order to get the drivers off. I went to device manager and pressed uninstall the wireless card, i also disabled it, and i made sure there were no linksys files at all on my pc, and it STILL re-installed them automatically. I am trying to get new drivers on because i think these could be corrupted or something.

any suggestions
