Strangest thing ...now when I use regedit find feature I get BSOD.
If I select only the Keys box it runs ok but either of the other two boxes goes to crap.
It's really strange ...it starts searching for about 30 secs then wham ...it starts hitting the hard page and mem and cpu drop to near nothing ...paging is pegged for about another 30 secs then wham ...big blue.

So if anyone has ideas please let me know ...this is kinda bothering me now.

Have you tried exporting the entire registry to a file? I'd try that, I would expect it to BSOD there. If it does, I'd try to use a freeware registry cleaner that fixes errors and broken entries. You could also try a freeware/shareware registry editor and see if you can search the whole registry without a BSOD.
