Problem with installing GIMP

edited September 2005 in Science & Tech
I have just downloaded GIMP ver. 2.2.8 with GTK+2. Problem is, when I installed gimp, it returned a message that the bios is hyperthreaded. Is there any way to disable the hyperthread, or is there a workaround?

I ran gimp anyway but it crashed when it downloaded the script_fu extensions. I repeated and it returned the same result.

Help. THanks.

Disable hyperthreading in BIOS...Prior to that, try to set the Gimp to be used by the first CPU.

I'm sorry I don't understand the instruction. How do I do those?

Btw, I've installed Gimp in other pc with XP as OS, and it worked just fine.

Does the other pc have a hyperthreading capable intel pentium processor? If it does, is HT enabled in BIOS? You will need to consult you MOBO manual for the instructions on disabling HT.
