yeah I like it.. I usually like to have things to look different and have revamps and upgrades. I think Vista isn't as much of a change as I would want though. It's all pretty similar.

That screenshot of the Control Panel really annoys me - its identical!! :shakehead

Some of it looks better, but a lot of it really doesn't appeal to me.

That identical Control Panel is intentional - for folks like me who can't do without the Classic view!

I've been playing around with BETA1 for about a week now. To be honest, I havent seen much of a difference from XP, with the exception of IE7. Some visual differences but behind the shell, everything seems similar.

One thing I particularly like: There is no more 'Documents and Settings' folder. It is now called 'Users'. Some of those long folder names used to drive me nuts :D

The installation procedure is very different from XP/2K though. It is totally graphical, and displays very little, with the exception of an progress bar below.

yeah how did you get that?

And I'll probably stick with XP also. Of course I want to see and use Vista to know for myself what its like, but I can't see myself spending more than $10 to upgrade to it.

One of the developers I work with is a beta tester, and I got a chance to play around with it on a system at work.

I'm not sure what is required, or how to sign up to be a beta tester. I think it's pretty restricted as to who can obtain it..

All you need to do is plunk down $2000 for an MSDN Universal license, we get all the Betas... ;)
