Geforce FX 5700LE vs Geforce 4 TI4200

edited September 2005 in Hardware
So here's the deal. My old Geforce 4 TI4200 died and I contacted BFG Tech and they sent a replacement but they substituted the card. They sent me a Geforce FX 5700LE.

Here are some links:

The 5700 is not the overclocked version thats on that page though.

One difference is that the old card had a DVI Output and the new one doesnt. I just ordered a new monitor (Acer AL1913 Widescreen) and it doesn't have DVI so it doesn't matter.

Is the card they sent better? Or should I complain about the sub?

Thanks

Well both parts are clocked similarly (memory and core) but the 5700 core is definitely superior.

So they didn't screw you on the performance end of things, but if you really need the DVI it can't hurt to ask them for it. Overall I say you got a little shafted but if you don't need DVI its definitely an upgrade.

I don't think you got shafted at all, your card died and not only did you get a new one, you were given one in the same performance category with vastly newer technology (i.e. the 4200 wont even run 3DMark'05 but the 5700LE will due to shader support, etc).

The 5700le is about the same speed but it has more features :).
