I've got way too many things that run on startup, but I have no idea which ones I should "unclick" so they won't run on startup. I have a list of items that I've found when I type 'msconfig':
vptray

CMGrdian

dpps2

qttask

realsched

Logi_MwX

SearchUpgrader

hpcmpmgr

HPWuSchd2

wupdater

RealPlay

Belt

DirectCD

CREATE~1

ctfmon

Weather

ypager

msgked

Adobe Reader Speed Launch

HP Digital Imaging Monitor

HP Image Zone Fast Start

Microsoft Office

If I need to give more information please let me know and I'll try to help you out. I'd just like to know of the non-essentials that I don't need on startup.

Thank you in advance!

SearchUpgrader is definitely something to get rid of. You may need the help of the experts in our Spyware/Virus/Trojan Discussion Forum to get completely rid of it. wupdater is rotten, too, as is msgked.exe.

Head over to the SVT Forum, read the instructions carefully, then post a HijackThis log in a new thread. Someone will be around eventually to get you fixed up.

Some of the other entries are not as sinister as the ones mentioned above, but are not really necessary. Once you get the spyware cleaned out they'll advise you on what other dead weight you can pitch.

    Good luck. :)
