What's Loading??

Hey fellaz, its me tha novice again, Just wanted to know, where can I go to find out what opens (and is loading) when windows starts up..it takes me entirely too long to actually get on.. ( I think it nortons anti-virus) because 1nce thats loaded im good 2 go..any help ?

    Download Microsofts antispyware thing.

    It abruptly tells you everything that's going on even if you don't want to know until you turn it on.

    with the Norton it does that so autoprotect is on or it is loaded up because it has alot of definitions to load up to protect your computer.

    on average how long does it take.

    Start -> run -> MSCONFIG -> startup tab

    Yeah that works to a certain extent don't forget to look in
    control panel----> administration tools--->services

    Even easier is to run HijackThis - it lists startup files, startup reg keys, startup services, and even obscure things like winlogon items.

    That is absolutely true. I just wish they had something that showed what everything ment and what it was or does. Now a program like that would be perfect especially if it tells you what program installed it, when and if it was authorized.

    thanx 4 tha info guys..now I can suspend some of this stuff. And to answer ur question it takes about 1 1/2 - 2 min to fully start up..wouold u say that is normal or.....
