urgent, trojan. cant turn on comp

ok i recently had a trojan and came here and buckeye sam heped me romove it. he told me to get avg anti-virus. well yesterday i was running a scan and it found a trojan, i put it in the virus vault. but then today i restarted my computer and it took me to a black screen that said, it had an error turning on because of a software or file. but when it said conitinue to windows i just wouldnt turn on. so i tried the last option it gave me "set the comp back to a good time" and it works (for now) but here my hijack this log file.

on the avg scan it said that the trojan it found was located in the C:/WINNT/system32 and the name of the file it says is bi1.exe. it says the name of the trojan is "trojan horse PSW.Bispy.B"

If that helps at all. anyways , i regualarly do check ups with ad aware and nortan except nortan is messed up and has been for like months. live update dont work. andyways, thanx for any help.

    and some person or computer has been trying to send me a virus on aim. from file connecting to links on the intenet, they dont leave me alone. if i block them they make new names.

    well heres the pic. but i recently got my nortan update to work. and i got really lucky and it had to restart for the new updates. luckily it stoped the computer turn on problem, but its still slow. and i kno there is still a trojan. heres a pic of what it did though

    Download Ewido Security Suite
    • Install ewido security suite
    • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
      • Install background guard
      • Install scan via context menu
    • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
    • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
      • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
      • Then click on Start Update.
    • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
      (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
    • Exit Ewido for now.

    hey i just went into safe mode and deleted all those files exept this one "O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52...meInstaller.exe" the only similar one i could find was this one "O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52/20030530/qtinstall.info.apple.com/bonnie/us/win/QuickTimeInstaller.exe"
    the weird thing is, the log file showed quiktimeinstaller like above. but when i pasted the log here, it changed to meinstaller, should i still delete the file? i didnt have time to finish the ewido scan but i got half way through and deleted 48 infected things.

    well yes. my computer is real slow. ive been thinking its because of low ram (256mb) even thought my computer used to be fast there is alot more stuff on it. and im buying more ram soon. probably about 1 gb. but heres one big problem i know for sure. last time i had a trojan i came on here and buckeye sam helped me remove it. there was 2 programs in my add remove program list. called vewipoint manager and vewipoint media player. i had to go into safe mode to roemove them and i deleted the folder from program files. but it came back. i just found it in program files and in add remove programs. im thinking maybe its coming back through the system restore (or where you set it back to a recent state) is this posible. and how can i prevent it from coming back again?

    Go into Add/Remove programs, look for and remove Viewpoint Manager. Then, go into C: > Program Files and Delete the Viewpoint Folder.

    • Right-click 'My Computer' and go into 'Properties'
    • Go to the 'System Restore' tab
    • Check the box next to 'Turn off System Restore on all drives'
    • Hit 'Apply' and then 'OK'

    Don't forget to turn System Restore back on after :)

    Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:
    1. Disable and Enable System Restore. - If you are using Windows ME or XP then you should disable and reenable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point left over from what we have just cleaned.

    2. Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
      1. From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
      2. Click once on the Security tab
      3. Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
      4. Click once on the Custom Level button.
        1. Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
        2. Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
        3. Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
        4. Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
        5. Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
        6. Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
        7. When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
        8. If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
      5. Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.

    3. Use an AntiVirus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future.

    4. Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.

    5. Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.

    6. Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

    7. Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option. This will provide realtime spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software.

    8. Install Ad-Aware - Install and download Ad-Aware. ou should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software in conjunction with Spybot.

    9. Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.

    10. Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
    Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.

    well thanx alot man, i guess im clean now. computer is still slow but im almost 100% sure that thats beause of very low ram. which i should be getting this week. cant wait. and one more thing. what are your thoughts on nortan anti virus ? ive had a subscription for a year, and ive realized it sux. and live update didnt work 99% of the time. its so stupid. so what are your thoughts on nortan because my subscription is endeing and idk if im gonna get it again.?

    I would definitely ditch Norton!!! I had Norton for more than a year and finally got rid of it early this year because 1) It took its time to load on startup and 2) it uses alot of resources.

    I recommend you get AVG Free Edition. I am using it and so are most members on this forum. It hardly uses resources and you'll see a major increase in your computer speed even with 256MB mem + its FREE

    yea i hate nortan. but i have avg free edition and mcaffe internet security suite. is that a good anti virus? seems pretty good to me. thats the only firewall i have (mcafee and its set on TIGHT mode) is there any free firewalls that you would recomend?

    AVG is a good anti-virus, no doubt :thumbsup:

    I know alot of members on this forum use ZoneAlarm Free, so you could try that.

    I use AVG and use XP SP2's firewall!!!

    NOTE: YOU SHOULD ONLY HAVE ONE ANTI-VIRUS AND ONE FIREWALL ON YOUR COMPUTER

    well the avg anti virus i have to reinstall because when my computer wouldnt turn back on like a week ago and i had to set it back, it messed up avg. but seeing how i am only supose to have one im guessing that avg is way better than mcafee? and one more thing if i use avg over mcafee could i still keep the mcaffe spam blocker and email scanner?

    Like I said, in one of the previous posts, i've never used McAfee and I wouldn't bother buying McAfee, Norton etc so yeah, AVG is better than McAfee :)

    If you want to keep McAfee Spam Blocker and Email Scanner than thats fine but remove McAfee Anti-Virus.

    ok well, thanx sooooo much. i always come to these forums even if i dont have a problem. just because there is interesting stuff :thumbsup: lol. but yea should get my ram this weekend. and guess what? my dad is also buying a new hardrive. hes probably going for a 120gb or a 200gb cant wait!. but im just gonna wait until the 25th to delete nortan. because it expires then. ill keep email and spam blocker for mcaffe or w/e . thanx alot! my computer turns on! lmao
