Hello!

I have run adaware and quarantined or deleted anything I needed to

I have run Spybot Search and destroy and fixed all problems

Here is my HJT log.

All help to rid myself from the spyware is greatly appreciated.

(Problem that prompted me to return to this great resource was my internet page kept getting hijacked and I would get a ton of windows to open up on top of one another)

    Next, download Ewido Security Suite
    • Install ewido security suite
    • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
      • Install background guard
      • Install scan via context menu
    • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
    • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
      • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
      • Then click on Start Update.
    • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
      (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
    • Now, scan with it by clicking 'Scanner' on the left and choosing 'Complete System Scan'

    Get rid of the following with HJT:

    Do you recognise this IP: 206.161.125.149? If you don't, then please go here and see if it matches the IP listed.

    Next, click Start > Run and > type 'cmd' (without quotes) and hit OK. In the window that opens, type in 'ipconfig' (without quotes) and press ENTER. Look at the line that says IP ADDRESS and see if it matches the IP above.

    Post a new HJT log and tell me if the IP's match :)

    I cant get it to remove the:

    each time I check it and then click fix it just makes teh HJT go blank and then if I run the scan again it is still there :scratch:

    the IP addresses did NOT match

    I Exited out of the Webroot spyware software not sure If I turned it off or if I just stopped it from disallowing me from removing that piece or what.. but exiting out of it let me reove that so it worked..

    Is there a tutorial on how to activate windows firewall? I think thats our best option for now until we can shop and get opinions on firewalls...

    We currently use Mcafee would activating the firewall that coemsa with that be good?

    I guess I do want help in chosing a firewall

    No one should post their IP to on the internet where someone can copy it and do who knows what especially on big forums such as this one.

    You don't need to buy a Firewall as their are plenty of good free ones. I suggest you use activate Windows Firewall by going into Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Choose 'ON' and click OK
