Internet Explorer..... wrong language?

This is a really weird problem. I tried viewing a couple pages, mainly the Seti@Home page and the Creative Commons deed page (http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ and http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.5/) and for some reason all the characters came up in what looked like japanese text. Other pages however didn't do this. Assuming this wasn't a coincidence that both pages were messed up, I loaded them up in FireFox and sure enough they looked fine.

Any chance the default language or something got changed in IE and if it's available it's showing certain pages in other languages? I've never seen this happen before. Should I start learning Japanese or anybody heard of a weird problem like this before? :)

It might be a character encoding issue... Look under "view--> encoding"

found the problem, apparently i had English and Japanese as installed languages and for some reason certain pages were selecting Japanese as higher priority than english, as put by the IE language option, dunno how i missed that button before, thanks though prime!

i did however learn that apparently my browser encoding is Western European (ISO) whatever that means :)
