How cool is this?

I just came across this news item.

I hope they keep to the story line and don't make a mess of it, though with Peter Jackson behind it, the movie should be good :)

I guess its better than a no name director.

Personally though, I dont think the story of Halo is good enough to warrant a movie.

But if anyone were to make the best of it, who better than Mr. Jackson. :-/

    This is mildly cool...

They'd do better to make a movie of the book. It took place before the story of the game, and was pretty good.

It tells the story about how 'Master Chief' got ahold of the suit.

There is an interesting scene in the book where a 'normal' soldier tries to use the suit, and the 'strength amplifiers' in the suit cause him to accidentally break every bone in his body. Gives you an idea of why MC can take so much damage.

It also gives a lot of interesting background on the computer personality that hangs out in MC's head for most of the game. It makes playing the game more interesting, 'cause you're invested in the characters from the book.

Hmm I didn't even know there was a book. That actually sounds pretty cool.

I'm guessing with the way M$ is pushing this movie they will want to represent the video game more than the book, to boost more sales of the video game franchise.

I would rather see a movie about the book. I would rather not see a movie about the game.

I think that doing the movie of the book would do a better job of boosting sales, cause the audience could be presented with the option to 'play' what happens next.

Unfortunately movie studios rarely see things as clearly as we plebians

Do they really need to boost the sales of the Halo franchise? I would think that pretty much anyone who is a gamer would have had some contact with the series by now and if they like that type of game then they'd already have it... But then again, what do I know?
