Over at the neowin.net forums there is a posting comparing 8 graphics cards on the new Half Life 2 benchmarks.

    Wow, I would have thought the 5900 ultra would have done better.

    The benchmarks posted on Neowin are taken from this article, which takes an indepth look at how Valve, ATI & NVidia are all responding to the comments made by Gabe, the individual who released performance numbers on how well the NVidia GeForce FX line-up of cards suck as playing HL2.

    Simply put, for the best HL2 experience, you'll want an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro or faster card for maximum performance and maximum quality on DirectX 9.0.

    I dunno, I think the Ti4600 did pretty well. 36 FPS is perfectly playable for me.

    The 36fps are really noticeable and if you get into a heavy fight your machine would crawl.

    I assume the benchmark is with a heavy fight.
