xp wont boot unless with CD

edited October 2005 in Science & Tech
I have a 120G HD(3partitions) that use to be just for files in my old system, now I have used it for my new one. I deleted the 1st partition and reformated it(NTFS) and installed xp in it, now everytime I start my system it always need the cd to boot, even though boot sequence is 1.HD, 2.floppy, 3.disable. If I take out the cd it tries to load from CD-rom and gives me an error "disk boot failure, insert system disc and press enter". First I thought probably MBR is corrupted and need to fix it, even though I just installed xp and created the partition, I still tried to repair and used FIXMBR command and guess what it didn't work :( anybody got any ideas?
