invalid win 32

Hello ever since two days ago when I turn on my computer, every program, or icon i click other than(search,disk defrag,my computer,recycling bin) says the directory (c:....) is not a valid win 32 i need help to remove this virus . Im on a budget so i cant get virus removing support.. I cant even download free virus removal software , it is a program so therefore it comes up as is not a valid win 32 Please help it would be greatly appreciated
