Audio delays.

Hi all,
I have just bought son Cubase SE and a keyboard. The keyboard is USB but also has MIDI in and out. The problem is if he selects a virtual instument there is a delay of around a second from pressing a key and hearing the note. Cubase registers the note is pressed straight away but there is no sound for a second. If he uses the default 'piano' there is no delay. On Cubase forums there is a reccomendation to use a driver called ASIO4all, I have downloaded it but it doesn't seem to be a driver as such, more an aplication.
Any ideas?

    Ah, I think it's sorted.
The instructions that come with ASIO are vauge. It turns out it is made by Stienburg (who make Cubase). You have to open it from within Cubase and change some settings. This gets the latency down to a few milliseconds. Why it isn't included with Cubase is a mystery.

Yeah, there is a similar thing for Linux called JACK. Seems like they all assume you know how to use them before hand :P
