I haven't been a big fan of FPS in a while, HL2 yes big time, but other than that, none have tickled my fancy

Quake for tickles me! The single player is ok but the multiplayer is nice! I haven't liked any multiplayer since the original UT this one is sweet!!!

I have been hearing more and more praises about the multiplayer gameplay. I haven't yet been able to try it. I hear the Arena Capture the Flag (or whatever) plays like old school quake.

Can you rocket jump? Oh man I hope you can rocket jump. I used to smoke fools left and right by rocket jumping circles around em, and pumpin rockets in em.

I borrowed mine from a friend, and cant play online with it.

You may have just convinced me to buy it... But let me know how the rocket jumping is.

Sounds as bad as Bunny Hopping and Dolphin Diving, ways players that are devoid of any skill just exploit holes in the game to **** everyone else over. Although I am seeing that almost exclusively now as the gaming world is dilouted to a land of people with no social skills, no emotions (other than anger for the usual "omg noob" "lol wtf omg") and no thought to anything they do.

Rocket jumping wasn't really an exploit, and it certainly wasn't undefeatable. The main advantage was surprise. After you've been defeated a time or two from rocket jumping, you knew what you had to do to counter it.

I am not one for multiplayer games - but playing the single player I just feel like I am playing Doom 3 - very similiar look and feel (except the lights are on more often)

at least there are no annoying PDA's to find and read all the info just to get some 4 digit codes

I am enjoying F.E.A.R more (but not by much)

I like the Singleplayer on Q4, but they didn't add anything to the Multiplayer. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for nostalgia, but Quake 3 isn't old enough for me to be nostalgic over it. So what if the MP has better graphics, it's still just Quake 3, nothing new. Except for the single player, the game was rather disappointing.

Rocket jumping is not an exploit. If someone rocket jumps they are being hit by a ROCKET think about it. After jumping 2 times they are almost dead. I don't see how Rocket jumping can be considered an exploit.

Yea rocket jumping is where you jump, and tehn shoot a rocket at the floor, to blast you higher than you could go with just jumping.

Useful when trying to get to ledges that are to high to jump to normally, and getting out of sticky situations.

Not an exploit, in fact it does hurt you when you do it.

EDIT: You never did answer my question, how is the rocket jumping in Q4?
