Seriously though, any word on what the differences are btwn 5.04beta and 5.02? I searched folding-community and couldn't find anything

I found the problem ...it's only working manually not as a service (local problem here nothing to do w/ the beta client)...something here is blocking it and I tried port=80 as well.
A few differences but the one noticable is the fact that you can alot how much mem you want to assign to the wu ...like a limit. That comes in handy since f@h although it releases cpu processes as needed it doesn't release mem from the wu in process ...this way you can put a cap on it.

csimon :csimon: covered it, but thought I'd post the stuff from the release notes:
    RECENT CHANGES (Client):

    5.04 (Console only):
    - Allows configuration of the amount of memory to indicate available,
especially useful when running multiple "big unit" clients on a single
    machine.
    - Allows for the setting of -advmethods as a persistent option
    through the Configuration.

I don't see that part. Have you seen it?

It's under the "Change Advanced Options" section. :)

I waited until I had completed the WU I had before to change over to the new client. This turned out to be unnecessay, though I'd recommend that anyone else giving it a try back up their Work folder just in case.

I ran the old (502) client with the -configonly tag and removed it as a service, rebooted, then ran the new client. It picked up on the new WU right where it left off without a hitch. (It was at 2%).

    So far, so good. :D

I've marked the two new options below:

Ah ...I've been running it since monday without a hitch (except for when the server went down) ...runs like a champ and I've been spitting out small wu's left and right.

Thanks for that prof ...I either missed it or it won't show with a current flag that I'm running.

same here but with linux version but as far as it showing which flags are being used you have to raise verbosity above default. max is 9
