Lotus Notes - Copy from Sent Folder?

edited November 2005 in Science & Tech
I've always used MS Outlook, but my work now uses Notes. Problem is everytime I copy or try to move an email from my Sent folder into a private folder, it leaves a link to the Sent email. then if you delete the Sent email, it also deletes the one in the private folder! I tried a copy and paste, but then you end up with TWO of the same email in the Sent folder which defeats the purpose of cleaning out your Sent folder.

LOTUS NOTES SUCKS! (at least in my short experience with it)

    ;D

We use domino here at work as well. It certainly takes some getting used to. What version are you running? R5, 6.5?

I found the best way to archive documents is to literally cut and paste them into your archive database. The built-in archiving in R5 was pretty buggy. It was improved in 6.5.

    Yes, R5 it is!

I tried the full cut and paste method, and it STILL places it back into the SENT folder as well as the archive! Madenning  :bawling:

You may want to try a 'design' refresh. Right click on the database, and click 'Database' and then 'Refresh Design'.. sounds like something funky happened to the template perhaps.
