I normally don't post much about games, but this particular demo I thought was one of the most remarkable I've seen. If you enjoyed Morrowind- I think you'll like this-

Elder Scrolls Movies

There are 6 chapters of demo movies for Oblivion and the one that amazed me the most was Chapter 2. All 6 chapters total are about 200MB of stuff so this is not for the faint of broadband.

Enjoy! :D

Last I heard- This month. However, I also heard an ugly rumor- they ran into a major QA problem and pushed into 2nd Quarter next year

    Be that as it may

It is a brand new stand-alone game.

    Here is what I've seen-

    Release Date 2Q next year

    and

    Bethesda Info .

I'd say the rumor dates at least are now true- but the reason still isn't clear.

    :(

Zanthian got it yesterday, and gave me a phone call about how cool it is. I'll be picking it up tomorrow, since it officially hits the shelves at Best Buy then.

I'll be grabbing it for the XBox 360. I think my computer *may* be able to handle it, but I'll feel better knowing I can throw it in my console and know that it will run with no problem.

I played Morrowind before I had a love for RPG's. It was interesting at that time. Now that I enjoy RPG's, I'm hoping I'll love Oblivion.

    Any early quasi-reviews?

I love RPG's...but i'm more of the MMO type! Oblivion looks like an amazing games but i'll beat it in two weeks and then it'll be useless!

I think one of the big draws of the game is just how massive it really is. No matter how many times you play through, you'll never have the exact same experience as before, not to mention the different classes.

When Morrowind came out, I played through it a total of 6 times. Sure that's around 300 hours of my life gone, but I'm not going to complain, I enjoyed every moment of it.

That openness was kind of what turned me off of Morrowind. Now I'm excited about it! Thank goodness I changed my views on RPG's. Heh.

Let us all know what you think. I'm extremely excited about this game, but am afraid of spending $50 when I'm approaching the idea of getting a new bass amp.

OK, Best Buy got it on the shelves today. I just got back from there, and the game is installing now. You probably won't see me again for a while...

My son's only video game addiction was World of Warcraft. This is the only game I've seen him get this excited about and he got it as soon as it hit the shelf today.

I got intrugued when I heard the lead-in music and Patrick Stewart doing the narration- the visuals looked great on his 9800 Pro AIW.

This may be my first game in a while.

At any rate, he's told me he's paid his last WoW fee.

(Well he does go to college, work, and is out with his friends right now, so it isn't that bad ::I hope::  )

Well, post back soon, everyone who is playing!

These were my First impressions after playing for 3-4 hours:

Fighting: Infinitely better than Morrowind. (It seems like the way it should have been done.)
Archery: I always felt like this was broken in Morrowind. You could actually be a good archer in this game.
Magic: Far easier, you don't have to ready then cast, just cast.
"Quick Keys": You have 8 quick keys that you can set to be what ever you want. (Health and mana potions seem most helpful so far.) Less stopping in the middle of a fight just to drink a potion.
Graphics: Drool... Makes you want a better video card because you know it could be just a bit better ;)
Character Creation: About norm, but I think they overdid the face tweeking. You can tweek the upper, middle, and lower part of your character's nose. You can tweek the size of the nostrils, whether they flare in or out, etc. Not bad, just a bit much.
Size of the world: It seems huge, but running doesn't drain stamina!!! It slows the regen rate, but does not drain it.
Sound: Wonderful musical score so far. Characters speak everything to you. It gives them more emotion.

Fun: Yes, this game is definately fun. It pulls you into this world and makes you want to play more and more. Definately buy this game if you had any doubts about it.
