Anyone else got this Problem?

edited December 2005 in Science & Tech
It seems that my installer might be on the fritz as i can't seem to update games or unzip files with 70% of the download files being currupt??? This i'm sure you will agree is very frustrating!

An example is the 64 bit patch for Far Cry the first time i downloaded it, it installed fine i then downloaded the Enhancement Patch which won't install at all?

I also download this on my other pc with windows xp (32bit) and copied it to disk and tried running it still same problem??? It also has problems updating joint operations escalation with its latest patch even though the other 7 previous ones work without fault?

Please someone help me!

As im a little out of the loop with XP-64 (can't see the point at the moment with so few drivers & apps).. Il try the obvious.. Windows Updates??

If not, it sounds like that install of 64 is bad and will need redoing :(

Sounds like what I was going through, just about every download of installables was corrupted, even reading things off a CD....playing one of my favorite games would sometimes lead to small changes in the texture files (just enough to set off a cheat detector) even though all i did was play the game.

When I finally got around to running memtest, it was ugly....very very ugly.

this was all on a 2000Pro system though, not 64
