I've read the instructions about the things i should do before posting, and i followed them: I installed, upgraded and ran both Ad-Aware and SpyBot, I even used ewido before them....

    Can you please do the following.

    We'll need to unload Spybot's Teatimer before we begin. To do this can you start Spybot and go to Tools > Resident and uncheck the box next to Tea-Timer. Make sure that the icon in the system tray is no longer there. If it is, just right click on it and select "Exit". Do not forget to re-enable it when we are done :).

    Run HiJackThis, click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

    Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

    After rebooting, rescan with hijackthis and post back a new log. Please let me know how your pc is now.

    Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

    Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

    IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

    Hello Crunchie and thanks for your reply. In fact, i thought the Shortmedia forums will tell me when anyone posts a reply to this thread but it didn't (although my thread subscription option was "Instant Notification", or do i have have to check some other option?) so i thought no one answered all that time.

    I did the steps you told me above but i still get crapware.
    By the way, Teatimer has some problem with its alert window, the buttons are overlapping, so i can only select disable and help, but never enable. This is the latest English language version.

    Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

    From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

    IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

    Hi there, I know it's been long since the last post. The thing is that l2mfix could not work for me. It restarted the pc and then a message came up saying that 0 keys could be written to the registry or something like that. But then the problem was that i lost my network card driver, and i failed to reinstall the driver. It always made a state of 10, or unoperable. So i decided to reinstall windows to get the whole thinf over with, but then the installer told me that the recommended option was to upgrade; which is what i did. Now i am clear again. Thanks for your help.

    PS: it turned out that i actually got the site's notification about the post being added to this thread, it just got stuck in my yahoo mail's bulk folder.
