Nightmare solved.

I don't know where this belongs so I'm putting it here. :)
So yesterday I decided to rebuild my PC with some new bits, an Abit AN8 ultra, 3500+Venice and 7800GT. There was a prob with the Bios, it wouldn't save any settings. This morning I took the AN8 back and picked Shorty up on the way. We got back with the new AN8 only to find that was knackered as well with the same fault. Back we went for another mobo but not an AN8. Each time we went for mobos we then had to go to the warehouse, five miles away, because they had none left in the shop. We got an assistant who clearly had all the time in the world, I mean why does it take half an hour to get a box off a shelf? The third mobo, an Abit AN8 SLI, worked ok but there was a problem getting windows in but Shorty sorted that. All in all we spent around 9 hours driving around, building PCs, taking them apart again, swapping bits from the identical PC that was put together on Saturday without a hitch and generally getting quite frustrated.
Shorty has given up the first day of his well deserved holiday to help me out and if he hadn't I'd have been looking for a very tall thing to leap off! A day full of very strange faults and non working hardware. Cheers Dan, I owe you :thumbsup::thumbsup:
