Caution on a Windows Update

This Windows update Micro$oft patch caused instability in two WinXP machines for me just recently. After patching one machine networking (not internet) stopped working and will not come back. Same on the other machine. Opening up any of the shared documents folders does cause a partial desktop crash and recovery.

It has been the only change in one of my systems and this is why I suspect it.

Unfortunately uninstalling hasn't fixed the aforementioned networking (sharing folders) issue but stability has partially returned.

Be cautious.

I installed that patch on both my P4 systems and my Barton 2500+/Asus A7N8X system with Windows XP Professional SP1. All 3 systems are still solid as a rock and all gigabit networking features (browsing, connecting and transferring) are 100% operational and stable.
