internet problems

Hi, i have been told you may be able to help, i have downloaded & run spybot & ad adware. my problem is that i cannot access all websites, i have 3 computers all running on a wireless network, 2 of them have McAfee installed & one doesnt, the 2 that have it installed cannot access all sites, i keep getting the message page cannot be found, this happens on ebay, microsoft, msn hotmail, mcafee site, & lots of others, if i go in through aol which is installed on one then i can get ebay & msn, but i cannot access them through google or other search engines. the one that doesnt have mcafee installed can also get to these sites through aol but not from explorer, im not afraid of changing settings & have even thought of formatting everything & starting again, i cant even access the site where the settings for the router is.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Tony.

Try disabling McAfee temporarly and see what happens. If you can get to another computer then perhaps you could transfer HJT between the two. :)

Please go to Windows Update and download all critical updates including Service Packs and the latest version of Internet Explorer.

Post a new HJT log after you have gone through Windows Update.

    How are things now?

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see your first set of results. Ignore the post below.

The Anti-Virus should say "Found Nothing" if the file is not infected. Otherwise, it would say what infection it is.

Please scan again and look for the results under Scanner results. Thats what you need to look at.

    Post the results here :)

    Scan with

    Panda ActiveScan
    http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm
Make sure you tick Disinfect automatically under Scan Options.

    Housecall at TrendMicro
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp
Make sure you tick Auto Clean.
When it completes, post back the full filename of any files that cannot be cleaned or deleted.

    Disclaimer
This service is by no means 100% safe. If this scanner says 'OK', it does not necessarily mean the file is clean. There could be a whole new virus on the loose. NEVER EVER rely on one single product only, not even this service, even though it utilizes several products. Therefore, We cannot and will not be held responsible for any damage caused by results presented by this non-profit online service.

Also, we are aware of the implications of a setup like this. We are sure this whole thing is by no means scientifically correct, since this is a fully automated service (although manual correction is possible). We are aware, in spite of efforts to proactively counter these, false positives might occur, for example. We do not consider this a very big issue, so please do not e-mail us about it. This is a simple online scan service, not the university of Wichita.

Scanning can take a while, since several scanners are being used, plus the fact some scanners use very high levels of (time consuming) heuristics. Scanners used are Linux versions, differences with Windows scanners may or may not occur. Another note: some scanners will only report one virus when scanning archives with multiple pieces of malware.

Virus definitions are updated every hour. There is a 15Mb limit per file. Please refrain from uploading tons of hex-edited or repacked variants of the same sample.

Please do not ask for viruses uploaded here, unless you work for an anti-virus vendor. They are not for trade. This is a legitimate service, not a VX site. Viruses uploaded here will be distributed to antivirus vendors without exception.

Sponsored by donations (in random order) from: Stormbyte Technologies LLC, The ClamAV project, James Love, Gideon Pertzov, Malcolm Murray, Nigel Thomas, Wendy Dickerson, Anthony Midmore, "ethereal", Mark Rubins, Steve S., Eric Johansen, Eric Schechter, Paul Bokel, Wilders Security, Wilfried Lilie, Prevx, SonicWALL, Lance Mueller, Ewido networks, and some people who prefer to remain anonymous... many thanks to all!

    Statistics
Last file scanned at least one scanner reported something about: 5408, detected by:

Can you follow the instructions in the link below and download Ad-Aware & SpyBot.

    http://www.short-media.com/forum/showpost.php?p=146151&postcount=1

Do full systems scans in Normal Mode and then go into Safe Mode and re-run the scans again.

Reboot back into Normal Mode and scan again with the online scans above. :)
