my mx700's scroll wheel isn't responsive. sometimes i turn it 3 or 4 full rotations just to have it scroll down one line. when using linux it doesn't do this. i tried installing the logitech drivers but that didn't help at all. anyone?

the wheel sensor may have gunk in it. You should be able to open it up and pull the crap out around the wheel and sensor.

When I read this thread title, I thought of the old joke:

A pirate walks into a bar with a ship's steering wheel on his crotch.
The bartender says, "You've got a steering wheel on your pants"
The pirate replies, "I know, and it's drivin' me nuts!"

On the actual topic, there is a scroll sensitivity setting somewhere in either the browser's settings or in the mouse settings for Windows that controls how much you need to roll the wheel to scroll a certain distance. I don't remember where, exactly.

//edit: Found it - Control Panel/ Mouse Properties.
