DFI NF4 Ultra-D: No video on boot
Im trying to get my computer to boot, however it is hanging. I have all 4 power connections plugged into the mobo.
I am using a XFX 7800Gt...One of my concerns is that the vid card is not seated in the pciE slot fully due to the Northbridge fan/heatsink directly underneath one end...the card seems to be resting on it...
When I boot, mydiagnostics get to 2 LEDs, which indicates it is not detecting video...
Any suggestions?

I am running a 520W OCZ PowerStream..Has more than enough amperage on the rails to run the board and GPU, if I read the recommendations correctly.
my ati all in wonder I am pretty sure worked in both pci-e slots on that board? I was running a really fast raid controller in the other pci-e so I'm pretty sure I tested it both ways.
Can you test it in another MB?
And you did all the normal stufff right....
Unhook the PSU to motherboard cable. Remove ALL connectors to the MB from the PSU.
Pull the battery.
Go drink a couple beers... Come back in 20 to 30 minutes. Put the battery back and reconnect the MB after that. Do it in that exact order...
Check you have ALL the extra MB power connectors these boards need connected also. Recheck the manual !
Tripple check the jumper on the cmos clear switch is set right. I have received many supposedly MB's with switchs set wrong.

Put the ram into the orange slot. That should take care of it.
it only feels like the card is resting on the fan, but it isn't. Spin the fan with your fingers and see if there is any resistance.
Thanks

Goaty, even after that I still had troubles booting...
If you do manage to resolve the no video issue, make sure when you first go into the BIOS to NOT leave the CPU clock settings on AUTO.
Namely, change the CPU/FSB ratio to its normal speed:
Example: My FSB was set at 200 MHz, and my AMD Athalon 3400+ is rated at 2200 MHz, so the FSB/CPU Ratio I put to x11 instead of leaving it on auto...Leaving them on auto may cause system instability and/or the CPU running at low speeds (on Auto it was running at 900 MHz ).
You may need to tweak your Memory timings too.
Good luck. the NF4 Ultra-D has been known to be tough to get running on first boot...
I had the board running my 3700+ CPU at 2.7Ghz for around a month before shifting the mobo in to another pc with a X2 3800+ which had been running at 2.4Ghz for the past three months. I had it booting but it was failing OCCT torture test even at stock so I swapped out the Adata PC4000 for some Elixer PC3200 and it wont boot no matter what I do now. I will have another go at it today.
Thanks
Scott
The NF4-D has been known to have incompatibility with certain sticks of RAM.
