I was looking, the price is a toss up.
I am wanting to run a DFI Lanparty ultra-d nforce 4 motherboard at about 250 FSB.
I can go 2x1GB and run 3-3-3 with 1T.
or 4x512 at 3-3-3 or maybe cas2, but with 2T.

How much dif will it make?

    If it helps, I run 4 x 512mb in my nForce4 board without an issue at Cas 2.5 / 2T :)

But what is the T2 penalty, vs T1?
I can find a log of memory tests, but I can't find the direct comparison of these options.

The difference is around 5-10% memory bandwidth in games that depends on memory. If you have a powerful machine that doesn't have the memory as it's bottleneck, you'll never see the difference. However, it is MUCH more stable and easier with 2X1GB, especially at 250. As Dan just said, 200 is a piece of cake but 200 at 2T and 250 at 1T is quite a bit of difference at the same cpu speed. On some mainboards, you can gain if you use 4 sticks actually by enabling true bank interleave, but very few have that option. I would choose 2X1GB any day of the week. At least for 250+.
