edited November 2005 in Science & Tech
hey,
i was wondering if its possible as an Administrator to run a program on another computer using a command line or prompt thing through a LAN(similar to the shutdown -s command). If so can i get the instructions to do so?
Thanks alot,

What exactly are you trying to do? If you want to just run programs on another PC, then remote desktop (built into XP) is your man. This lets you log onto a PC remotely (through the LAN) run any prgrams you want to run then disconnect (not log off) and the programs are still running. If you want to run programs on a remote PC while logged onto your PC then that's a little more tricky. You'd need to have some kind of network application running on the remote PC which was communicating with a client on your PC.... I don't know if there's anything available that does this, but it's fairly straightforward from a programming point of view.
