Password Protection

edited December 2005 in Science & Tech
I have a password for my account, the only account on the computer. I need to keep the password instated so I don't get people going on and touching stuff...again...So, I have it set on startup and when I return from screen saver. Here's my problem, before, it would just be a window that would pop up prompting a password, now it brings me back to the original start up screen. When I do 'desktop-right click-properties-screensaver' it gives me only one option, the option to display 'welcome screen' instead of 'prompt password' which is what I had ticked before.

My question - how can you get it back to 'prompt password' instead of the welcome screen?

Thanks for your time.

Don't forget you can also press Ctrl+Alt+Del and then click "Lock Computer" to lock it as well which may be more useful in some circumstances (assuming XP, 2k3 or 2k).

What OS are you using? If it is XP then you may need to go into the Users control pannel applet and unselect "Show the Welcome Screen".
