Abit motherboard SATA drive

edited December 2005 in Hardware
I'm setting up a new box, first time working with SATA drives. Its an ABIT IS-10 motherboard. Both the HD and the CD/DVD are SATA and I have them on SATA1 and 2.

I have tried setting the IDE ports to be enabled or disabled, and have the sata settings set or set to auto, but it doesn't seem to want to boot off the cd in the dvd-rw.

If I enable IDE ports, I will get a Boot from CD and then it locks.

If I disable the IDE ports I get a nonsystem disk error.

Thoughts??

Does the motherboard BIOS recognize all of the SATA drives? Is the Boot order is set to Optical drive first?

I would leave the IDE ports on (not disabled) just for GP
