Well hey guys,

I am having a bit of a problem! I have been trying to learn how to re skin my Vbulletin forums for my website. www.bfmetournaments.com I have tried everything I know and can not figure out how to do it. I have read the manuals and the help guides. But for some idiotic reason I can not grasp how to change/fix my forums.

If there is anyone out there willing to help me pout please do! as I surely need it. Maybe even point me in the right direction.

    OK.. start from scratch ;)

When you say "skin".. what would actually like to do..? :)

    Colour... templates.. change the layout..?

Im more than happy to help :)

The layout I like! it is more the color change and or maybe a template change. I just do not want to loose all the data I have in the forums now by doing it. I am not the sharpest pencil when it comes to forums....

To change colours.. this will get you started... :)

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> VBulletin 3 style -> [Dropdown list] Main CSS Vars :)

By the way.. you can't lose the data unless you dump the database and completely reinstall VBulletin from scratch ;)

If you notice my site is based on EA's Lord of the Rings The Battle for Middle Earth, aka BFME .

I would like to color my fporums to either match the color theme of my home page www.bfmetournaments.com or re-skin/ or redo the template to be Earth tones something that would remind you of LOTR stuff.

Ok.. I a simple start would be to "borrow" the surrounding images that you have the main part of your site and put them around the main parts of your board (you see the white boxes we have here on short-media) ;)

Then colour the rest up :)

But where do I got to over ride the current template? do I just find the images in my forums and redo them? and overwrite them? as I guess it is set to scale the center sections and leave the tops and bottoms?

I am probably making this seem harder than it really is! but I guess I just need the guidance, I had my forum get whipped once before by trying to learn new things. I just don't want that to happen again.

Hey shorty.... I found a skin for the forums, and I think I figiured out how to upload the fiels to the forum so it would work.....but I want to make sure with someone who knows what they are doing :)

Also I tried to Upgrade my forums to the newest version and it didn't like me at all. I did what the instuctions said, and I could not get to where they said I needed to be.

Hey Shorty, if you've got some spare time I could use some help with my message board (that you set up for me a couple years ago).

Biggest problem is that you can't see anyones information if you click on their names. I don't have the first clue of where to start to reload a script or whatever to fix it.

I'm not sure if other people have problems signing up with the message board or not. I've had a few new ones join, but not very many.

Thanks for anything you can do to fix it.
