Digital camera suggestions?

Hi Everyone, I'm a bit of a digital photography n00b, but I'm looking to pick up a camera. I'd like to keep this one for a long time, so I'd like to get something pretty decent.

I'd like a high-zoom lens (greater than 3x optical) if possible, Something good with macros, >3MP..

I like larger sized cameras, nothing super compact..

Budget is around ~400ish, preferably less.

I saw the Kodak Z740 around for very good prices, and it seems to have the features I'm looking for, but I'm unsure of the quality.

Any recommendations?

go to dpreview and search using the options that you desire.
My suggestion is that you pay more attention to the lens than anything else. Find a review where they looked into the resolution and uniformity of the lens.
I have to admit that I am a Nikon fan.
Some of the better Kodak and HP cameras do have very nice lenses.

Thanks for the info, I was browsing around dpreview a few days ago.. great review site. The nikon cameras are really nice, but most of them were simply out of my price range. I decided on the Fuji s5100 (same as s5500), which fit my requirements nicely, and was quite affordable. dpreview looked pretty highly upon it.
