Cs1.6

now i know that it's kinda old school but i still play. my clan still has some people that play but most went to source. i wanted to stick with it. now my question is i'm gettin around 45-50fps and want to know if this is good? or normal or what. it's an older computer prebuilt and i'm not putting any money into it. (i just spent 1060$ on my new one, just don't have a copy of winblows yet) but i wonder if there is anything to try to get that better. i have tried a couple commands and stuff in game that someone had me do. but what about any settings or maybe a prog that could optimize the connection. this advice will also be instituted on my new comp most likely. so any help is welcome and appreciated.

Hmm, it's been awhile, but I think that if you turn off vsync (in the HL options somewhere, if I remember right), it will improve FPS. You'll experience minor "tearing" of the image though. Try it both ways and see which you like better.

What kind of graphics card do you have? Overcloking your graphics card a small amount can increase FPS. 60 fps is sort of the amount to shoot for. Once you've got that, I wouldn't worry any more about it. You're pretty close now, though, so you may not be able to tell the difference if you do get it up to 60.
