possible virus? need help fast, new to site

hey guys, new to the site. i was searching for some help on a problem i have encountered (igps.exe DLL error) and came across this site. seemed pretty helpful, so here i go: the other day, i got an instant message from a friend with a hyper-link saying "new pics of me". being that this person is someone i talk to pretty often, i clicked the link. well, what i got was some new software (zapos toolbar, i think it was). i have ran ad-aware pro(latest updates) and spybot. i managed to get rid of that file but when i run ad-aware, it continues to pick up some malware called "linkmaker" (cant get rid of it even when i choose to delete. comes right back). in addition to this, when i shutdown my computer, i get a DLL error message saying "igps.exe has failed to..." ad-watch was showing registry modifications at first, but they have stopped now. i also tried going back to a previous system restore checkpoint, but that hasnt taken care of the problem. anyways, any help would be appreciated. wanted to see if you guys could help me before i go and blow a hundred bucks on the computer guys down the street. heres my hijack this file:

should also be noted that i am not currently using any anti-virus software. but as soon as i get this fixed, im getting norton 2006. thanks guys.

    Before we continue, do a Full System Scan with AVG and let it clean whatever it finds. Do that first because you havn't got an Anti-Virus on your computer and there maybe stuff that needs removing first. DON'T FORGET TO UPADTE AVG. :)

    Step 1
    Go to Add/Remove programs in Control Panel and look for the following

    QL

    If found, please uninstall.


    Step 2
    We need to disable SpySweeper temporarly as it may interfere with the fix

    To disable SpySweeper:

    Open it click >Options over to the left then >program options >Uncheck "load at windows startup".
    Over to the left click "shields" and uncheck all there.
    Uncheck "home page shield".
    Uncheck 'automaticly restore default without notifiction".


    Step 3
    Run HiJackThis then:

    1. Click "Open the Misc Tools Section"
    2. Click "Open Process manager"

    -

    Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following:


    C:\WINDOWS\system32\igps.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\pgws.exe


    Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.


    Step 4
    Check the following in HJT and click 'Fix Checked' - Close ALL open Browsers first

    O2 - BHO: LinkTracker Class - {8B6DA27E-7F64-4694-8F8F-DC87AB8C6B22} - C:\Program Files\QL\qlink32.dll

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [lspins] "C:\WINDOWS\system32\igps.exe"

    View hidden files and folders - explained here


    Step 6
    Find and Delete the Following:

    C:\Program Files\QL << this folder
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\igps.exe << this file
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\pgws.exe << this file


    Step 6
    Enable SpySweeper


    Step 7
    Download Ewido Security Suite
    1. Install ewido security suite
    2. When installing the program, under "Additonal Options" uncheck..
      • Install background guard
      • Install scan via context menu
    3. Launch ewido, there should now be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
    4. The program will now open to the main screen.
    5. When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
    6. You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files:
      • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
      • Then click on Start Update.
    7. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
      (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")

    If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.

    Once the updates are installed, do the following:

    Close ALL Browsers before scanning
    1. Click on scanner.
    2. Click on Complete System Scan, the scan will now begin.
    3. While the scan is in progress you will be promted to clean files, click OK.
    4. When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a checkmark in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections", then choose clean and click OK.
    5. Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located at the bottom of the screen named Save Report.
    6. Click Save Report.
    7. Now save the report .txt file to your desktop.

    Now close ewido security suite.


    Step 7
    Reboot and post a new HJT log :)
