Anyone got any ideas?
I've got a Asus SLI Deluxe Motherboard my chipset fan is dying and needs replacing. I own a Point of View 6800ultra (dual slot) card which actually goes over the top of the chipset cooler.
My first question is does anyone else have a aftermarket fan which will fit in this space without modification?
My second question is the same as above but with modification?
My third is has anyone got a watercooled solution to this? I'm guessing that when the graphics card is watercooled there will be no big heatsink sticking out so putting in a chipset cooler (either passive or watercooled) will work without problems?
What i would like to see is pictures of what people have done so as to get an idea of what options i've got.
The overall aim is to kill the noise coming out of the pc, i've got a completely clear case and i've already modded it to accept 120mm fans front and back instead of the standard 80mm. And fitted a Ev0 33 on the FX 55 to cool that, which reduced noise considerably but its still annoying!
