getting rid of automatic log off

edited September 2007 in Science & Tech
Hi,
My pc started loging off after a couple of minutes if i dont use it.
I checked the power options but all seems to be in order (i chose "never turn monitor/hard disks).
The only change i did perior to the problam is installing Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
Thanks,
Bendi

What OS are you using? WinXP Pro?

Automatically logging off or locking? Is this your personal PC or a company PC?

If it is a company PC with a windows domain, there could be a domain policy that is pushed down to your PC that forces the PC to log off after "X" minutes of not being used.

If this is your personal PC... Check the screen saver options.

    Thanks,
That did it (unchecked the welcome screen on the screensaver properties)

I'm using vista and having similar problem. I don't have a screen saver, as for as battery options i selected never for everything. But my computer still logs off automatically.

For Vista..... I have NO idea. With all the security features, it may not be as easy to do.
