Now I know how to build the most complicated towers, setup networks, and pretty much anything computer wise...

But why the heckk can I not figure out how to make my own BF2 server? I have uploaded their Client and have it running on 1 of my many towers. with my internet connection at the house a 32 man server will be no problem... but it seems when i set it up it will not use MY IP it keeps going to the network IP form my D-Link router :( am I doing something wrong, Is there something else I need to setiup? any help is appricated!

The only thing I think of is that you may need to open the ports on your router for the BF2 Servers...

    Never played BF2 before...good luck!

Sledge, get on primers vent some night and look for a guy named FQDN, he is a data center manager for MS in san jose, he hosts several of our match servers, he has setup BF2 server, CSS, ET etc... He is your man. You can also PM him here...

you will have to register, fear not no spam or nuttin, but I am sure he can help.

Just to be clear however, you downloaded and installed the server software right?

Thanks Gobbles, I will look into contacting him! also i did DL the and install the software! I was able to create a server but it would only run under the IP my Router gave it.... I was able to connect via network and set it up and admin it... but other than that I have no clue how to get it up online to be playable to friends around the world...

You have to forward the ports from your router to that machine. You need to set the private IP of your machine to be static instead of dynamic from the router, and then forward the BF2 ports to that static private IP (192.168.0.x, usually)

I tried setting up my Linksys router instead but it wouldn't tkae the internet! IM kind of baffeled by it as Im not to keen on Verizon and Vios ... anyone know if there is something special I need to do?

There's your first problem: They own the router, not you. You need to get access to the router in order to make this happen.
