XP SP2 Adoption Lags Overseas

More than a year after Microsoft shipped Windows XP Service Pack 2 as a massive security-centric OS makeover, customer adoption internationally continues to lag at disappointing levels, according to a senior Redmond executive.
"A large number of computers out there are significantly vulnerable [to malware attacks]," McKee said.

"[SP2] is 15 times less likely to be infected by malware," he said during a speech that highlighted the company's progress on the security front.

    A huge amount of companies have not rolled out SP2. We are still validating in our test environment now where I work. SP2 introduced alot of trouble for admins. The plethora of new GPO ADM templates is a headache and only the first of many...
